there appears to be a common thread here lately in some of the songs i've heard recently. examples:
Kenny Chesney "Don't Blink"-Don't blink Just like that you're six years old and you're taking naps and you Wake up and you're twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife Don't blinkYou just might miss your babies growing like mine did Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your better half Of fifty years is there in bed And you're praying God takes you instead Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think So don't blinkI was glued to my tv and it looked like he looked at me and said "Best start putting first things first." Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand You can't flip over and start again take every breathe God gives you for what it's worth
Carrie Underwood "So Small"-While you're sitting around thinking about what you can't change And worrying about all the wrong things Time's flying by, moving so fast You better make it count cause you can't get it back
Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing Is just a grain of sand And what you've been out there searching for forever Is in your hands Oh, and when you figure out love is all that matters after all It sure makes everything else seem So small
Steven Curits Chapman "Miracle of the Moment"-'cause we are who and where and what we are for now and this is the only moment we can do anything about so breathe it in and breathe it out, listen to your heartbeat there's a wonder in the here and now it's right there in front of you and i don't want you to miss the miracle of the moment
it's interesting to me to hear this in all the songs. it's pretty plain and clear to me what they are all saying. don't worry, don't fret over stuff. what does worrying do? you can't change anything by worrying about it. it tells us in the Bible not to boast about tomorrow, sorry i can't quote you the verse but i know it's there. i'm so thankful for each and every day i wake up! God is so gracious to us all. Let's not take this day for granted! We are not promised tomorrow, not even this afternoon. Thank you Lord for Your promises, Your mercies, Your Truth! and can i just take this time now to say I HEART SCC! :o) yes, Jess, i totally stole that from you! Ok, Steven Curtis Chapman has released one of his best cds ever! I love every song on the new cd. it's a fun and uplifting 11-track work of art. some of the songs even have a "Jonas-brothers" feel to them...I wonder how much of an influence Steven's son's had on this recording? They are both in the music industry in some way if i remember correctly. one of them plays drums? anyway, they are growing up, and Caleb Chapman actually is "featured" on the song "children of God". i told one of my patients a couple of weeks back how excited i was about Oct. 23rd because the new SCC cd was coming out. his response? "Steven Curtis Chapman? he's still making albums? but he's SO OLD!" HUH???? lol he went on to tell me about the old one he remembered from when he was little, a song called "lord of the dance" HA! how many of ya'll remember back farther (like 3 or 4 cds before that) when SCC had a mullet and resembled Patrick Swayze quite a bit? Thank you God for music!

Proverbs 27:1 says "Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth."
It's a good one!
Love you Mitty
Ok...because of our previous conversation on our drive...and because of the latest happenings in my life...I am just pretty much crying and so happy that I just read this post! I am the QUEEN of fretting..worrying...not being able to make up my mind, and all the while the Lord is just patiently...ever so faithfull, waiting on me to take it all to Him. And He listens and then, somehow, I remember...Oh Yeah! He is my Lord, He ACTUALLY DOES HAVE A PLAN FOR MY LIFE. And He loves me enought to wait on me to figure this out, time and time again...pretty amazing.
Love you sweet, wonderful friend!
Hi Misty!
I heard you are in need of a peanut butter cookie recipe. :) I'm a peanut butter lover and this is my never-fail "secret" recipe.
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/4 c. flour
Cream first 6 ingredients. In a separate bowl, sift last 3 ingredients. Slowly add dry ingredients to wet. Place heaping tsp. of dough on cookie sheet, sprinkle with sugar, and criss-cross with a fork. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
Hope you like 'em!

Hi Ellen! thanks for the recipe!
Do you know the Audio Adrenaline song, "leaving 99"?? It is about leaving the 99 sheep behind to find the one that has gone astray. Such a sweet story of how the Lord shepherds us:)
Hey Mitty, looks like I found your page too! I'll definitely have to go back and read your informative bloggings ;-)
Love to you, Amy
