Around the house

i am such a 'suzy homemaker'! i made these curtains for the kitchen window. i wanted green ones, of course, but all i saw when shopping were kicthen curtains with roosters or fruit all over them.i don't own a sewing machine, so i hand-sewed them! i even made hold-backs with the extra material. i took this close up pic so ya'll can see the pretty detail :O)

this would be an attempt at a flower garden. this photo clearly shows the reason they sell flowers already in bloom, easy for you to transport from pot to ground. these pictures show what happens when one plants flower seeds...
look verrrrrrrry close and you can see some purple in the midst of the weed-like jungle of greenery...
this is a sunflower that tried to take over the front of the house. i was going to dig it up, and started to, but the ground was too hard. so instead i just stepped on it and broke it, and attempted to chop it off at the ground. i wasn't able to do that either, so there ya go. we'll get it out later...
Jon laid 2 more pallets of "dead" grass! see the pretty green grass up front? it used to look like the newly lain (is that a word?) grass behind it. we're hoping it will take off and be pretty like the rest! Jon has worked so hard to get our yard looking good. He seems to "know" someone, or has a friend, who can do anything. He has a friend named Robbie who owns a grass company and that is where we get this supposedly dead grass. at a fraction of the cost! Robbie is coming over tomorrow to spray hydramulch on the front yard to fill it in. Way to go Jon, i'm so glad you have a green thumb! otherwise we'd still have rocks and dirt for a yard!

Super mom here you come!! I wish I could stay home too! You look like you are having fun and keeping pretty busy!
My mom is quite the curtain maker too.. this weekend she found some nice cloth napkins and turned them into a valence curtain. Minimal sewing required!
