i've been tagged

ok real quick, cuz i wanna post some more pics of my new family....

Katy tagged me, to list "quirky" things about myself. lets see...
1. i don't care for spending the night at other's homes...or without Jon by my side. yeah, this one came to me thanks to Katy and Jess--and the never dying "i just wanna go home" lol
2. i cannot rest or relax if there is "stuff" lying around. example: we come home from the hospital with our new baby, i cannot go inside and rest until all the stuff is out of the car. and put away. well, i didn't get it all put away immediately...this was hard for me :O) if i go on vacation and have a suitcase or whatever i cannot sit down until the suitcase is unpacked and everything put away. i guess that's quirky?
3. i like to eat foods in order of what i like least to what i like best.
4. while on the food subject, i mix gravy and ketchup and dip stuff in it. french fries, chicken fried steak, etc...i don't know why that came to me just now...
5. i can remember too much useless information--i don't even do it on purpose! my brain just retains it. it's really good at remembering music---song titles, artists, albums, band members names....and movie lines. i can watch a movie one time and remember lines (maybe just one or two, but still!).
yeah, that's all i can think of....feel free to comment to remind me of other "quirks" i have! :O)

Cash

He's here! weighing in at 7 lbs, 3 oz, 20.5 inches long, born at 11:56 am on 8-11-08. He is amazing. Jon and i are so in love with him, it's indescribable! i hope to post more details later and pictures too...here's a few to start!

Come ON already Cash!

I'm tired of waiting! I know i am supposed to be enjoying this time, without a newborn. I have been, believe me it's been wonderful to be able to rest when i feel like it! I guess i'm just having "one of those days"...and honestly i'm getting nervous about actually going into labor! At my Dr appt yesterday there had been no change. 3 weeks in a row i have been "the same", so that was a little discouraging. I know, it doesn't even matter, because I could go into full blown labor at any moment now! My doctor actually said she wanted to schedule an induction, just to get it on the books. I do not want to be induced! Please pray that little Cash will make his arrival before we have to resort to that. When I made my next appt they did not say anything about scheduling the induction, and I didn't remind her. Was that wrong of me? :O) My next appt is on the 15th of August. Surely--SURELY--he will come before then?

Around the house

i am such a 'suzy homemaker'! i made these curtains for the kitchen window. i wanted green ones, of course, but all i saw when shopping were kicthen curtains with roosters or fruit all over them.i don't own a sewing machine, so i hand-sewed them! i even made hold-backs with the extra material. i took this close up pic so ya'll can see the pretty detail :O)

this would be an attempt at a flower garden. this photo clearly shows the reason they sell flowers already in bloom, easy for you to transport from pot to ground. these pictures show what happens when one plants flower seeds...
look verrrrrrrry close and you can see some purple in the midst of the weed-like jungle of greenery...
this is a sunflower that tried to take over the front of the house. i was going to dig it up, and started to, but the ground was too hard. so instead i just stepped on it and broke it, and attempted to chop it off at the ground. i wasn't able to do that either, so there ya go. we'll get it out later...
Jon laid 2 more pallets of "dead" grass! see the pretty green grass up front? it used to look like the newly lain (is that a word?) grass behind it. we're hoping it will take off and be pretty like the rest! Jon has worked so hard to get our yard looking good. He seems to "know" someone, or has a friend, who can do anything. He has a friend named Robbie who owns a grass company and that is where we get this supposedly dead grass. at a fraction of the cost! Robbie is coming over tomorrow to spray hydramulch on the front yard to fill it in. Way to go Jon, i'm so glad you have a green thumb! otherwise we'd still have rocks and dirt for a yard!

Baby shower take 2!

here's a few pics from the baby shower Nicky threw me at my house. That's me and Nicky at the top, the second pic features "4" generations...my grandma Pat, her daughters Vicki and Inky, their daughters Misty and Amber, and soon to be here baby Cash! next is the cradle that my Uncle Scott hand made for Cash. Me, my sis Shilah (with Drake looking on). My sis, cousin Amber, and Aunt Inky, and lastly Amber and me--the pregna-sauruses! Not much else to report on this baby shower...Cash got lots more stuff :O) Thanks again to everyone who was able to make it that day and for all the goodies! Thanks again Nicky for giving me a wonderful shower!
Week 36 update from Dr. Neville: everything is going great! aside from maybe too much weight gain...all is normal and well. Jon is still in west Virginia for work! he may be home sunday July 20th or monday the 21st! i hope he gets a day off when he comes home. Cash misses his daddy!

Baby shower take 1!

my sweet friends at work threw me a baby shower! Cash is so spoiled already. He needs nothing! He even got his first Christmas stocking--personalized even--from Aunt Jess and Aunt Katy! seeing this made me cry. He has clothes, robes, towels, washrags, toys, wall decor, diapers, bottles, cups, spoons, bowls, bumbo chair, stroller, high chair, cradle, blankets (and more blankets!), pacifiers, and his first set of spurs!! we are set. Just need him to get here now and let the fun begin!
last thursday (july 3rd), about midnight or so, i woke up and was in so much pain. couldn't go back to sleep, couldn't lay down...didn't know WHAT this was. was this a "real" contraction? why was it only on the left side? if it was a braxton, why didn't it feel better if i changed position or walked around? i ended up "getting sick" (does that sound better than throwing up? ha!) at 3 am or so. very concerned about what is going on...this being my first pregnancy i don't know what is "normal"! friday july 4th i called the dr. she told me to take tylenol...and this is just the "uncomfortable part" of pregnancy. really? that's all? take tylenol? ok. i got sick again friday afternoon and then i'm thinking that i got a virus or something and i'd feel better. that night i slept ok. come saturday morn, about the same time, here comes the same pain on the left. i'm up alllll morning again, got sick again...still very concerned. i called the dr on call again after church and he told me basically the same thing, but to go in on monday and see dr. neville. so i did. everything's fine she says! this is good news of course, but then i wonder....5 more weeks of this? unable to sleep and pain to the point of getting sick? maybe i just need to buck up then? last night was a good night. it seems like 50/50--every other night the pain comes and keeps me up. oh well, as long as it's all ok then i will deal with it!

last day of work

after 6 years, 11 months, and 15 days...
i miss my friends!
i miss seeing so many of the patients of Drs. Alexander.
i miss Dr. Moody and Dr. A.
don't miss....
driving
traffic
hunching over with a beach ball in my lap trying to work on linguals
swollen fat foot
it was a truly "bittersweet" day. we all know my leaving is for a wonderful thing, to be home with my baby Cash! at the same time it was so hard to walk out the door. thankfully, my dear friend Jess came over and kept me company that evening! it was a fun day too, it was Elle Belle's birthday and a baby shower was held for me after work! pics of that will come later. if i post all my pics now i won't have anything left to talk about :O)
